Dayplan plans: Free and Pro
Dayplan has two plans. Free costs nothing and holds up to 100 tasks. Pro costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year (USD), starts with a 14-day free trial, and adds the Coach, voice input, photo scan, Google and Apple Calendar sync, and unlimited tasks.
Everything you need to plan a day works on the Free plan. Pro adds the parts that rely on AI or on a live connection to your other calendars, and removes the task limit. This page is the one place where Dayplan's prices and limits are written down; other guides link here.

Horizon is Dayplan's home view, where your days sit side by side. Timeboxing means giving a task a specific time on the calendar.
Prices
- Pro monthly: $9.99 a month.
- Pro yearly: $99.99 a year, charged once a year, instead of $119.88 for 12 monthly payments.
Prices are in US dollars, the only currency Dayplan sells in. Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout, so the amount you pay can be higher than the price above depending on where you live.
The free trial
Pro starts with a 14-day free trial. You add a card when you start it, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. If you cancel before then, you aren't charged at all.
Free trials are one per person. If you've had a Dayplan trial before, the checkout charges the first payment straight away instead. See Start your Pro trial.
The Free plan task limit
The Free plan holds up to 100 tasks. The count includes every task you have, open, done and let go alike. You'll notice that finished tasks count too. That's because Dayplan still keeps them for you. Tasks in Trash don't count, and neither do subtasks or breaks. When you reach the limit, new tasks are paused until you delete some or upgrade. See The Free plan task limit.
AI actions
Pro includes 500 AI actions each month. The Free plan has none, because the Coach and photo scan are part of Pro.
- One message to the Coach uses one AI action, however much the Coach does in reply.
- One photo scan uses one AI action.
- Voice input doesn't use extra actions. It counts as part of the Coach message it becomes.
Your monthly allowance refills every month, on both monthly and yearly Pro. Unused actions from the monthly allowance don't carry over. See AI actions for how they're counted.
Top-up packs
If you use up the month's AI actions, you can buy a one-off top-up pack:

Top-ups don't expire, so whatever you don't use stays on your balance after the monthly refill. You can buy them from Settings → Plan & billing or from the Coach when it tells you you're out of actions. See Manage your subscription.
Frequently asked questions
Is Dayplan free?
Yes. The Free plan has no time limit and doesn't need a card. It covers daily planning, the Dayplan calendar, Quick Capture and daily shutdown, for up to 100 tasks.
What's the difference between monthly and yearly Pro?
Only how you pay. Both include the same features and the same 500 AI actions each month. Yearly costs $99.99 once a year instead of $9.99 every month.
Does the free trial need a card?
Yes. You add a card when you start the 14-day trial. You're charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
Can I use Google Calendar on the Free plan?
Not as a live sync. Google Calendar and Apple Calendar sync are part of Pro. On Free, you can still import a calendar file once.
What happens to my things if Pro ends?
Your tasks stay where they are. Synced calendars pause instead of being deleted, and the Coach becomes unavailable until you upgrade again. See What happens when Pro ends.
