Rest is part
of the plan

Most planners fill every hour. Dayplan saves room for the pause, so you get to 5pm with something left in the tank.

Starters, mains and desserts

Order from your break menu

When you’re drained, choosing how to rest is one decision too many. So you set the menu ahead of time, with breaks you’d actually pick.

A break is always one move away

Plan it in the morning, add it on the fly, or let Coach catch you when you forget.

Drag a break into the day

Your morning plan has a Breaks rail right beside the calendar. Drag one into a gap and it gets a time, like any meeting. Dayplan suggests a few you tend to take, and never books a slot without you.

Or just type “break 15m”

Add a break anywhere you add a task. “coffee break 15m” becomes a break, not a to-do. Typed for today with no time? It drops in at the next quarter hour.

A nudge before you hit the wall

An hour into focused work with no break in sight? Coach sends one gentle line, in iMessage or the app, suggesting a stretch. Twice a day at most, and you can switch it off.

The small things that make it stick

  • Teal means rest

Breaks wear a color no task can use, so a pause never blends in with the work around it.

  • Surprise me

Can’t pick? Roll the dice and Dayplan chooses from your menu. Roll again if it’s not the one.

  • Ideas for low days

Need a boost, or running on empty? Browse break ideas made for exactly that kind of day.

  • No guilt pile

Breaks don’t carry over. Tomorrow starts fresh, with no backlog of rest you owe yourself.

Questions about breaks

Breaks are their own kind of item, separate from tasks. Add one from your break menu, type it anywhere you add a task (like “break 15m”), or drag one from the Breaks rail onto your calendar while you plan your morning. Breaks show up in teal, so rest never blends in with work.

A short list of breaks you actually enjoy, chosen ahead of time so you don’t have to decide when you’re tired. It’s grouped into starters (quick resets, 2 to 10 minutes), mains (real recharge, 15 to 45 minutes) and desserts (treats with a timebox). You pick your first ones during setup and can edit the menu anytime in Settings.

If you use Coach, it can send one gentle nudge when your plan shows an hour or more of focused work, no recent break, and none coming up soon. It arrives in iMessage or the Coach chat, only during your work hours, and never more than twice a day. You can turn break nudges off in Settings.

No. While you plan, Dayplan suggests a few breaks based on the ones you tend to take, but it never books a time without you. You decide where each break goes.

Nothing. Breaks don’t carry over to the next day, so there’s no pile of missed rest waiting for you tomorrow.

Work hard.
Rest on purpose.

Plan the pauses along with the work, and finish the day with energy left over.
